As a fellow small business owner, I prefer to support small shops. I also know that during this time of covid and other respiratory infections, personal services like massage, nails, or hair are often a high risk. As a covid conscious business, I would highly recommend Derek. Not only was he willing and able to accommodate ventilation and mask-wearing, but he was kind. I was expecting a battle, or at least a begrudging attitude but he was cheerful and made me feel more at ease. He was proactive on canceling due to exposure and immediately asked when I felt comfortable rescheduling, he even offered a refund. But as a small business owner, I know that is harder for a one-man shop AND he did his best not only to protect my health and safety but to work around my schedule for the rescheduling. As someone who has to be very careful not to get sick, it is such a breath of fresh air to not only someone who is understanding but supportive. I appreciate him not wanting me to get sick. As for his services, I have chronic pain in my lower back and legs due to old injuries, and Derek has been fantastic at not only reliving it but to showing me some things I can do for myself at home. Derek not only cares for this Indigenous persons physical but mental wellness. And a small business. Its hard to find that in this economy.

I've been seeing Derek almost every other week for over a year now, starting shortly after my terminal cancer diagnosis. His exceptional skill and genuine compassion have made such a difference in my life. The muscle aches from my cancer medication, stress, and an old sports injury are significantly alleviated thanks to his expertise. He creates a calming and therapeutic environment that provides me with much-needed relief every time. Derek is not just great at what he does; he's also a truly caring and attentive person. He always takes the time to check in on how I’m doing and adjusts his techniques to meet my needs. His dedication to keeping both himself and his clients safe, especially given my compromised immune system, is of utmost importance to me and really reassuring. I’ve always felt completely respected and valued by Derek. If you’re looking for a massage therapist who combines incredible skill with genuine kindness, Derek is the best there is. He’s been a vital part of my healing journey, and I’m incredibly grateful for his support and care.

AVOID this guy! I found Derek during the pandemic and the massage was great. His business practices, not so much. I bought a few prepaid packages that in a text I have from him DO NOT EXPIRE. When I declined another prepaid package my appointments started being cancelled often at the last minute. I requested a refund of two of my sessions. He refunded me 4 months later after a barrage of insults and excuses. If you want a massage from him, pay only after services rendered. DO NOT PURCHASE ANY PREPAID WORK. You will regret it. He is not the person I thought he was. Others reviews attest to this. He will probably reply to this denying this, but I have all his texts and phone messages. I keep receipts!

I highly recommend Derek! I’ve been going to him over over two years and he’s the best massage therapist I’ve ever been to. He’s very knowledgeable and professional. He has greatly improved my back and neck pain. I’ll continue to go to him

I regret not thoroughly reviewing this business's testimonials and reviews before scheduling an appointment. Derek initially presented a congenial demeanor; however, his discourteous and unprofessional comportment became evident when he was obligated to reimburse my payment after he canceled our scheduled session due to his illness. If an enterprise mandates remuneration to secure an appointment, it should have an efficient and professional protocol for processing refunds when unforeseen circumstances arise. The requirement of prepayment for booking a massage therapy session is unprecedented in my experience and should have served as a preliminary indicator to abstain from engagement. Post facto, I ascertained that Derek frequently cancels client appointments and employs obfuscation tactics when attempting to reschedule. His possession of the funds appears to obviate, in his mind, the need for professionalism, courtesy, or accommodation. The entire experience bore the hallmarks of a sophisticated deception. Notably, most of his positive reviews are dated two to three years prior, suggesting a potential decline in service quality or a shift in business practices. I strongly advise potential clients to exercise due diligence and approach with caution. Derek, I respectfully request that you refrain from responding; I have no interest in your rationalizations or perfunctory apologies. Instead, I suggest you focus on cultivating a more courteous and professional demeanor when interacting with prospective clients. If the rating system permitted, I would assign this experience zero stars.

It would appear this business does not follow their own 90 day refund policy. Requesting a refund was an unpleasant business and unprofessional. I waited 90 days and received no refund. I will be considering reporting this business and I would strongly advise anyone not to go here. Also I've seen in the past negative reviews that this owner will attack the posts - I would remind this business owner that posted on the Federal Trade Commission Consumer Advice page it clearly states "It’s illegal for companies to threaten or penalize you for posting honest reviews." As a customer, I simply request a refund be sent through the cash app or Venmo, there is nothing more to discuss.

Derek is so knowledgeable! I'm currently training for a marathon after being injured most of 2023 and he does a great job of listening to things I need worked on and is a huge part of my recovery routine. I always feel 100000% better after one of his session. Highly recommend!

I was a regular customer of Derek for about a year, and have never been more satisfied with a service than his. He is highly responsive, empathetic, and I always felt he had my best interests at heart. Additionally, he is a brilliant and talented masseuse with eclectic and deep knowledge. I wholeheartedly recommend him without any reservations.
