This was our second time here for our anniversary and it did not disappoint. This time, we were staying at the adjoining hotel and it was so convenient to not have to venture out somewhere else for delicious food and drinks. The atmosphere is very cozy and upscale, like you might expect from a whiskey bar. The baked Brie and chocolate torte were incredible, as we remembered, and we were pleasantly surprised by the seafood soup and salmon burger this time too. The staff was very attentive and accommodating. Great selection of whiskey as well! Thank you again!

My review is specifically for MacGregor’s Whiskey Sours. OMG!!! So good!!! Whiskey Sours are my favorite cocktail so I’ve tried a few over the years. MacGregor’s is the best. Just the right amount of sweet & sour, and those yummy dark cherries!!!

Quaint bar/restaurant inside the Cabin Beach Hotel. We stopped in about an hour before closing & the staff were so gracious. We ordered lobster bisque, which was amazing & the cheese board, which was just the right amount for our late evening hunger. The whiskey selection is great & the cozy whiskey bar ambiance is fabulous.

This is a place you might not expect anything but drinks from…. But you will be making such a big mistake! This is a sophisticated restaurant that serves a great selection of fine wines, beautifully prepared and presented food and deserts that are out of this world. The customer service and knowledge of their seating staff is unparalleled- they hive you information on every bottle of wine and the history of the region isn’t comes from. Their smoked crab dip was able to tempt a vegetarian out of their regular dish choice. Their priding is reasonable and is in line with the quality of food and service they offer. Ditch all the popular places in favor of this one - you won’t be disappointed!

Our dinners were inedible. Ordered steak tacos and chicken tacos. The steak was grey, cold, thick, tough…not good. The chicken was dry. My drink was served in a glass with lipstick. When I asked if I could have a new glass, our waitress poured my drink into a new glass. We could not eat our meals and when we asked for the check she asked how it was and we simply said, not good. We were charged for a full meal and she did not seem to care that we clearly had not eaten our meals. We went to another nearby restaurant to salvage our evening. Wait staff were attentive and the food and atmosphere were far superior. We wish we had gone to the the Wayfarer first.

We enjoyed this place so much that we had dinner and drinks here three times during our week in Cannon Beach. Delicious food and craft cocktails and an AMAZING selection of whiskeys from around the world. For those in an exploratory mood, they offer whiskey flights of three one-ounce pours; our server, Gabe, drew on his extensiveknowledge of whiskey/whisky to offer background and insight into the pours we were tasting. The atmosphere is cozy and friendly. If we lived locally, we'd be regulars. Highly recommended!

This place is quickly turning into my goto for an evening bite and drink when in town. During a recent mid-January birthday visit, when the temps were below freezing, some venues were closed in town -- but thankfully not MacGregor's. Ordered a flight of high-end scotches in honor of the birthday. Three selected were: Loch Lomond 18. Laphroiag 16. Hypernova by Ardberg. Well-curated by Gabe and Alex. The Loch Lomond 18 "tastes like Christmas." That's the actual phrase they used to describe it and they are 100% correct. I tried it last year and decided it was close to the perfect holiday drink. Something incredibly delicious about that scotch. I think it's about $25 a pour? Had never had the Laphroaig 16 but it beat the Laphroaig 10 hands-down; Gabe helped me understand my reluctance towards the Laphroaig 10 by describing it as tasting "medicinal." Like any scotch drinker I love a stiff drink but "medicinal," which I equate with "trying too hard," is not my version of stiff. In contrast, the 16 was beautifully balanced and actually *spicy,* which I loved! But it was probably the Hyper Nova that was the surprise. It had a salty smoked meat aftertaste -- akin pastrami -- that made it remarkably delicious. Really good tasting experience. I had some toasted bread and butter with the flight; I'm a lightweight and won't drink without eating. They also poured a taste of a mezcal, to introduced me to the basics Mezcal. I need an education before heading to Oaxaca, Mexico later this month. Always welcome the education I get at MacGregor's. Thank you, gentlemen.

Reviewing super late, but when my partner and I went here for our anniversary in the off-season, it was an amazing experience. They have an impressive amount of whiskies here. Everyone here is both friendly and super knowledgeable about spirits.
