What a fun place to visit for karaoke! Great vibes here! It's a small venue but it's super fun. Went on a weeknight around 9pm. They check IDs at the door but there was no cover. Each night seems to be a different theme (rock, country, hip-hop). There is a somewhat limited list of songs and you need to bring up your own lyrics. It's really cool that they had a live band to sing with. I'd definitely stop in again!

Queer from the PNW here: I was a little nervous about karaoke in the South, but this was a fantastic experience. Bustling on a Sunday! I came with a big supportive group, but locals/strangers showed us a lot of love. The bartenders and KJ were great. Drinks were affordable and totally up to par. Jell-o shots were very bad, skip them. Not accessible, you need to go up a relatively steep flight of stairs. To all the reviewers who had a problem with the bouncer: obviously every night is different and the guy we met might not be who you did, but our guy was chill and super nice and accommodating. If you want a karaoke night, go here!

Bangkok Lounge is the best karaoke bar in the Charleston area. I highly recommend this bar to anyone who is looking to unwind, have fun, and enjoy trying to sing their hearts out. The staff is friendly, the drinks are priced well, and the vibes are awesome. I have never had an issue with this place and intend to keep coming back. If you're a local looking for something new, or just visiting Charleston, this is definitely a place worth checking out!

I never feel compelled to write reviews, but I had to after this weekend. The staff at Bangkok were so rude, excluding the bartenders. The DJ clearly had favorites and would let certain people sing once walking in and some of our friends saw him moving certain songs up next in the queue. This is fine, not the biggest deal, it happens. What really floored me, my friend saw people paying for their songs to move up in the queue. She asked him if she could do the same and his response "Maybe if you give me a big tip." She proceeded to Venmo his $5 and showed him. He laughed in her face and took $5 out of his tip jar and tossed it at her and said "that's not a big tip." From there, we went and sat at a table. After a little time passes, another worker comes up and basically tells us he has a reservation coming in and to get up or get out. Reservation- cool we get it, but the way he spoke to us was extremely rude. I get they deal with drunk people but we were there at 6pm and had 2 drinks. Will not be returning.

This karaoke bar was so much fun! We were there for a bachelorette party and had a blast. It got crowded into the night, but it was a Friday night so that’s to be expected and we were still able to sing! Would definitely recommend coming here.

My friends & I were harassed in the line to get in and the bouncer letting people in allowed it to happen. We decided to leave. Returned the next day, hoping for a better experience but it wasn’t. We stood in line at least 30 minutes, got in and the man they let in behind us sang twice before one of us was able to. They allow you to sing based on the amount of tip you give the DJ. It was fun to people watch, but we were not impressed by the staff!

We are karaoke veterans and waking in, the vibe was high-energy and great support by the patrons cheering for the singers. We sat at the bar, and even though one of us was drinking Diet Coke - no money for the bar/bartender - the bartenders took GREAT care of us, refilling that Diet Coke without even asking! I’d read in another review that the KJ’s had a “tip-to-skip” policy and sadly this seemed to be our experience. We were there about 2 hours and I’d heard not one, not two, but three singers sing twice before we were called up to sing. It’s either tip-to-skip or poor rotation management. Either way, it’s not how you keep regulars happy. Maybe the bar is more interested in tourists than regulars. We were about to leave when I finally got called up to sing. Great place for a good time, but be prepared to pay if you want to sing.

We had fun and we were about 45 people drinking and singing along with a few other smaller groups there on a Wednesday night. No strawberry daiquiri as it wasn’t frozen and wouldn’t be tonight so I had two mango ones. We had fun however some people think singing means yelling or screaming and not cool. I am not a wuss however I was worried I’d be deaf today! We had a blast and the DJ was very nice and also fun! Great for groups
