Very intolerant atmosphere. We went with a large group of both straight and gay friends. One of our friends was wearing an American flag bow tie, and was immediately approached by a patron sitting at the bar and questioned if he was “a republican in a gay bar.” After refusing to answer he was shoved and sworn at and told to leave. The bartender witnessed this entire thing and made only a slight effort to calm the aggressive patron, and made no apology to our friend. So we left. Bringing our group here was a mistake we won’t repeat.

Good equipment for karaoke set up. It can be busy some days, found out there were 35 people ahead of me to sing one time. Also the online song list is outdated, the bar seems to have a similar amount of songs like the karaoke bar.

The first karaoke bar I found when I moved to San Francisco and now all the employees and regulars. This place has an outstanding atmosphere. Great service and awesome employees a great place to express yourself meet wonderful people and sing your heart out.

I have gone to The Mint for 6 years now! I love it! 100%! It's all for LGBTQ+! Straights are welcome Ha. The drinks are great. There's a restaurant next door, and they have a door in between to bring our food over. You can reserve seats! Any song can be sung! (I leave tips ). All of the staff are so sweet. It's a wonderful place for karaoke! Wonderful place for lots of fun! ️

The Mint is The Mint. You have to go. You have to experience it. It is a cash only bar, parking is limited and you may have a lengthy wait for a song. They have an atm conveniently located at the entrance. SF has a parking problem in general. And this is probably the best karaoke bar in SF…so it’s popular. There is also a beautiful Sushi place next door to pair perfectly with the drinks.

Will only play songs if you tip a lot. You will keep getting bumped if don’t give higher tips, it’s ridiculous. Maybe ask for money up front instead of this crap with only playing songs for the people with more money. We waited over 3 hrs listening to the same terrible singers because they tipped more. Would much rather pay a flat fee like $5 so can hear more variety in singers plus have cash left for drinks. What would the bar prefer? Me to buy more drinks or keep tipping karaoke person….

My friends and I did not have a good experience and we do not recommend it. We asked for 4 or 5 songs and waited for hours until 1 of them could come out to sing. Other people came out to sing several times while we waited and drank at the bar.

Usually a fun crowd to sing to and be a part of, their options for songs are pretty robust! However, the drinks are expensive and they skim you on alcohol. I’ve been here three separate times and have noticed with my friends. I would only order beer or canned seltzers at this establishment, because that’s the only way you’re truly getting what you pay for.
